The books that I have included in my project are important pieces to this ELA curriculum. They will improve the implementation of the curriculum immensely. This ELA program will help teach my students many important reading skills while learning about many different cultures. Each lesson focus on an important reading skill such as close reading. The students will be exposed to the text multiple times throughout the year to help build a better understanding of main ideas and important details. While each unit uses different texts and has different focuses the books that I have included in this project involve a study of Peter Pan by Tania Zamorsky and studying other cultures and how different cultures access books and knowledge.
