As you can imagine, engaging middle school students and keeping them engaged in lessons is not always an easy task. I discovered an awesome program that makes learning fun and keeps students interested call Nearpod. What is Nearpod? It is an online student engagement platform that can be used both in the classroom and at home. Nearpod helps teachers make any lesson interactive. Students can draw pictures, answer questions, watch videos, and engage with the content on their own devices. They can also view lessons at home to study. This gives me immediate feedback on how my students are understanding my lesson so I can reteach as needed. It has everything I need for my students all in one program. Unfortunately, I am unable to purchase a subscription using a school purchase order. Top 5 Reasons I Love Nearpod: 1. It keeps all students engaged with games, videos, images, drawing boards, web-content and so much more. 2. It allows me to see their progress immediately so I can see what support they need and adjust my instruction. 3. It has a feature called immersive reader which helps struggling readers by reading everything to them. 3. It allows virtual or absent students to complete the lessons they missed on their own. 4. It allows me to create differentiated assignments and lessons that can be completed either at a scheduled time or during their own time and at their own pace.
