My students have recently fallen in love with the single copy of Kanoodle that we have in the classroom. This has caused me to realize that we are sorely lacking in high quality games to teach them about logic, spatial awareness, and growth mindset - our brain's ability to grow from our mistakes! Our classroom needs high quality games for high quality interactions. I have students who are below level who nonetheless love to build during STEM time. I have above level students who would benefit from additional math games. All of my students will benefit from interacting through learning in these games that are all either based in logic, STEM, or spatial awareness. Students also use single player games like Kanoodle and Quadrillion in our "calm down corner." Many of my students have strong emotional needs, and they benefit from short breaks that allow them to calm down. A short logic game like these takes up the perfect amount of time to allow them to reset and return to learning.
