Some of the many topics we cover in the family and consumer science courses I teach are: money management, entrepreneurship, communications and relationships, child care, nutrition and wellness, food preparation, marketing and advertising, culture diversity, basic life skills...and a whole lot more! These books will enhance their knowledge of the various topics of life skills, all while interesting them with real-life situations, scenarios, experiences, and entertaining stories. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. They prefer short and interesting fiction or non-fiction articles and books. I feel the best way to increase their reading ability is to read more printed books and articles and read more topics that interest them...not just posts from social media or the ones that are required for their English classes!
