Access to award winning books that will spark interactive conversation among my 5th grade students is the goal for this project. These books will be the focal point of our book club and will also be referenced in other classroom projects. I tell my students that their Imagination is one thing that cannot be taken from them and can grow by reading and engaging in good conversation with peers and other adults. This DonorsChoose project will provide books that will stimulate their imagination and spark conversation. They will dive into points of view that are different from their own, and it will create debates where they will learn real-life skills of expressing disagreement and passionately defend their favorite character. These books will take my students on a roller coaster of emotions such as fear, sorrow, and compassion and transform them into unique thinkers with a grand imagination. Please help me mold young minds into great readers and well-spoken citizens of tomorrow. It starts Today!
