Observing students progress in another first grade class, and my own trial with a wiggly first grader, proved to me that they can improve their attention span with a simple seating option! I would love to offer alternative seating besides a desk chair that tilts and falls! With your help I can offer wobbly stools, textured seat cushions, and balance balls at their desks and at their work stations. The seats are portable so that we can move them around the room as needed. When I tried this, much to the surprise of my students, they learned something! When they were able to focus; they learned, were less distracted, less of a distraction to their neighbor, and enjoyed their seat!
