Reading opens new worlds for students. I hope to be able to stock our library shelves with new STEM books. These books include interesting facts about self-driving cars and programming video games and information on discovering careers in the STEM areas. Our titles include "STEM Careers: A Student's Guide to Opportunities in Science," "Technology," "Engineering and Math," "Hacking," "Freedom of Information," "Data," "Mining," and many more. Placing high-interest library books on STEM topics into the hands of our students will inspire the scientists within to learn, be curious, and ask questions about the world around them. As library books, these books have the potential to benefit everyone in our school. Many of our STEM teachers require research projects. Since the books will be available for all students to check out, the books will become valuable resources for the students' research. We also have a school-wide career day. The students are encouraged to do some research on a topic in the fields they are interested in pursuing. These books will be a welcome addition to our collection that supports career day. The books will support teachers' curriculum and be accessible to the entire student body. They will provide interesting learning opportunities that foster learning and creativity for all.
