I am constantly looking for good resources to help kids get involved within their learning. The materials in this project will aid in teaching the Common Core Science and Math for 4th grade students in my class. I am always on the lookout for interesting and high level text to share with them, and also hand on learning projects. Many kids have very little exposure to hands on activities, and I want to provide it for them while they are at school each day. We have a wonderful core, and I want curiosity to shine on in every singly one of my students, no matter their backgrounds or prior experience! The supplies I am requesting will help with science experiments conducted in class, and the reading material correlates with our 4th grade core curriculum. We also participate in a fluency exercise that is called Dyad Reading, where partners of differing levels read together to build fluency and reciprocity. I am always searching for non-fiction books and science connection books for the kids to read during this time. The books I am requesting are for a two-fold purpose: one for teaching science concepts, and two, for reading during Dyad reading time.
