I am excited to use Hands-on Equations with my students as it brings algebra down to a concrete level that my students will be able to manipulate and understand. They will be surprised and pleased to find that they already have some of these skills. Their confidence and attitude about algebra will improve as they are guided through the sequence of lessons. In small groups these manipulatives will assist in students having mathematical discussions. They will also give students independence in solving word problems, and provide opportunities for students to work on the standards of mathematical practices. These will prepare students for the goal of being career and college ready.

About my class
