The novel Wonder will benefit our classroom across the board, through many different outlets. Teaching in an inclusive classroom, many children tend to grow curious about the services others are receiving. To which we make sure to explain there is a difference between needs and wants. Each student has needs and wants to meet their individual educational goals. We as the educators in our room tailor the needs of all, to make their educational experience the most meaningful. We aim to make our classroom feel like a home and teach the students that in order to operate in a manner to meet the needs of all, we must work together. The main character in Wonder was considered different by many but taught such valuable lessons. These lessons included an understanding of inclusion, growth, friendship, and confidence. Through this book, my co-teacher and I, hope to inspire the students in our classroom to keep an open and honest mind, where they too can see the beauty in all things and people around them.
