A Kindle-based listening center with headphones gives children the opportunity to fine-tune their reading skills by hearing how fluent reading sounds. Hearing the rate, intonation, and cadence of fluent reading provides a basis upon which students can build as they read. Flexible seating is an innovative approach to arranging a classroom, which allows children to pick where and how they want to sit in the classroom. Wobble stools allow children to fine-tune their balance, moving as they sit without distracting themselves or their classmates. Similarly, balance balls allow for movement, while still providing a safe and comfortable place for students to sit.
