My students do quite a bit of coloring when evaluating different parts of cells and body systems. We use colored pencils to label and color coordinate cell parts to their function and location with in the animal and plant cells as well as the different systems with in the human anatomy. Students learn better with using color and texture when identifying with in any subject. This gives the students ways to express themselves and have control over their ways to gain new knowledge. I also use lots of foldables to enhance notes and diagrams. When we use colored paper for a foldable it helps them identify what topic or category we are studying.
