Painting at an easel allows one to work vertically, which helps to create a more accurate painting since this allows you to produce your work in the same plane in which it is to be viewed. Also, since vertical is our position when we generally perceive things, it also helps to keep the perspective precise. At the moment, we do not have easels to use so the students struggle with perspective when painting on flat surfaces like their desks. By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve my students' painting skills, but you will also ultimately help in providing an authentic painting experience. The easels I have selected are portable, which is necessary for my classroom because I also teach Career and Life Skills as well as Yearbook in the same room. These easels are lightweight and collapsible, perfect for allowing the proper painting experience as well as providing a quick clean up.
