The novels and magazines are adapted to my students' specific level and will help them gain greater proficiency in Spanish. We will be reading these novels in class and doing an array of different activities to check for comprehension, such as pre-reading and post-reading comprehension questions, smash doodles, games, discussions, writing practice, cultural research, predictions, free choice activities, storyboards, and storytelling with TPR. Pobre Ana is a great reader that is adapted specifically to beginning-level Spanish students. It allows them to learn the language in a meaningful way and is a story that high school students can relate to. The Scholastic magazines are also another resource that engages learning for students of all different abilities. It includes lots of images and pictures as well as online activities. I've also added colored pencils because we do many visual and arts-related activities to help differentiate multiple styles of learning. These resources will help the students gain proficiency through rich language and meaningful context in a way that is enjoyable and engaging for the students. Your donations will help us get closer to that goal!
