Hands-on learning is an important element in my classroom. I firmly believe children learn through doing and discovering on their own. Active engagement and high-interest lessons allow students to become successful thinkers and problem solvers. STEM lessons allow students to discover solutions to real-world problems in innovative ways. STEM materials such as the Fairy Tales Problem Solving Kit and the Active Play STEM Early Learning Kit allow students to think critically about a problem that needs solving. Whether it is trying to build a raft for the Gingerbread Man to cross the river, or determining how much force is needed to make a car roll quickly down an inclined plane, STEM kits will provide the way. Allowing students the chance to experiment and solve problems builds students who are critical thinkers and are empowered to become future innovators.
