I am passionate about helping students believe in themselves. As a math teacher, many of my students come in on the first day already convinced they can't do it. So why try? My job is to show them that they can. I work at a low income, low performing school, so many students are very behind when they get to me. I teach Foundations of Algebra (a course for those not ready for high school level math) and Geometry. Many of these students lack basic skills like multiplying 2 times 3 and how to add fractions. Along with teaching math, I strive to teach my students how to learn, think critically, and rise to a challenge. Because even if we aren't always proving triangles are congruent, we will always be faced with a challenge.
