My project is requesting funding for three trapeziod tables to be used in my classroom for small group instruction and by students during independent work time. My students naturally gravitate to tables over their desks. When instructing small groups, I have to sit on the floor to work with my students. Not having a table to meet at is challenging when instructing small groups. One of the biggest challenges is not being able to interact easily when working with students. I frequently have to ask students to shift places with each other so I can help them. Additionally, effectively monitor the rest of the class while working with my group is challenging from the floor. I would love to have three trapezoid tables in my room to use during centers because it allows me to monitor the rest of my class and service 6-8 students at the same time for small groups without the students having to shuffle on the carpet.
