One of the best ways to differentiate instruction is through use of individualized Chromebooks. I intend to use these Chromebooks to help my lowest readers to learn the alphabet and the sounds each letter makes, followed by individualized guided reading instruction using software supplied by my district. I need 6 Chromebooks to accommodate the lowest readers as a station during a literacy block. This will allow students to use instruction on Starfall and other sources to learn their alphabet and the sounds for each letter, and provide guided reading instruction using RazKids. These students did not acquire this ability in Kindergarten as they should have because they were English language learners or simply not ready to learn. The Chromebooks will allow each student to proceed that their own pace while providing them the repetition they need with less impact on the learning for the rest of the class.
