I envision my students learning about nutrition, healthy foods, and basic cooking skills by creating a marketplace. The marketplace is a fun activity where students learn to collaborate and produce products to sell to their peers. Students will work together in groups to design a business plan and create foods or items to sell in a marketplace. Students will use the spatulas, wooden spoons, electric griddles, hand-mixers and forks to cook and prepare foods to sell within the marketplace. Other students may use rotary cutters and irons to create items from cloth like wallets or bags to sell in the marketplace. Through this activity students will learn the basics of financial literacy.
