My students would benefit from having engaging materials to learn about financial literacy and numeracy in our first grade classroom. Teaching students about money and finances is a very important life skill that everyone should learn and will be used throughout their lives. Being able to count money and understand money sense is beneficial and a necessary skill for everyone to learn. Since many of my students learn in different ways, using engaging materials such as the Roll and Solve Math Kit, Math Folder Games Library, and the Counting Money Puzzles will allow my students to learn explore financial literacy through games and activities that best suit their learning needs. The Let's Pretend Restaurant Writing Box and the Count It Up Money Rods will keep my students engaged and excited to learn about money through real-life games and materials. We will also use the Money Hands On Teaching Kit to learn the value of different coins and use combinations of these manipulatives to show different monetary values. Learning about financial literacy is a real-life skill that children enjoy learning and will use in their lives for years to come. Thank you for helping me make financial literacy come alive in my classroom and make learning about money fun!
