I teach world history to a diverse group of students in the 6th and 7th grade. My students represent a variety of special learning needs and challenges; English language learners, GATE students, special education students, and socio-economically disadvantaged. Schools have had so many budget cuts in recent years. I teach in a working-class community where parents care about their students' education, but don't have money to support the school and make up for the lack of funding coming from the state. My students are at a disadvantage when they are limited to pen and paper. They need to be exposed to the latest technology.
