The books I want for my students are written at the proficiency level of the students, which makes them comprehensible to students because they use a limited number of unique words. I am excited for my students to have books like Sueños de La Isla, a story about two brothers and their love for baseball written in two different tenses. Students will choose which books to read and having a wide variety allows them to pick a book that matches their passions and reading level. Reading will help them achieve higher Spanish proficiency by giving them lots of comprehensible input.
