The pocket charts will help my students take control of their learning. If they can move to different areas of the room and work together to rebuild familiar stories written on sentence strips, create their own sentences with sight words and vocabulary words, or match pictures with words, or words with definitions, they will take ownership of their learning. They will be engaged, and we can build and create together quickly and effectively. The high interest Spelligator games will encourage my students to play together while practicing word patterns, and give me time for individual check-ins. My students love to play the few games I do have. They will be more excited about their learning time!
