The Global Read Aloud organization seeks to connect the world through one book, The Marrow Thieves. I want my students to participate in this endeavor by engaging in a global literary conversation with students around the world that differ from them in innumerable ways. While different, they will all connect over the ideas presented in this book and discuss each concept analytically, and through these conversations they will grow as individuals and collectively. My school/district limits the number of books my students have access to, but this project will enable my students to experience relevant, purposeful connections in ways never before possible.
