An interactive board will allow my students the ability to visit other countries, states, people worldwide and interact on a global scale. It will provide a platform for Skype and conferencing; for students to interact with children across the country. The board will be their eyes and a connection. It will provide a visual historical trail that can be followed worldwide. Whether we are studying Rome or modern day Greece pictures, videos, live chats can enhance the past and will portray the present for students to prepare for the future with this board. It will allow us to contact authors not only about their books but also for their advice about writing which does interest many students. The possibilities are endless. We hope to interact with our state and federal elected officials. Hopefully being able to hold live chats that introduce them to our Democracy and help them see the importance of voting and interacting with the community. The possibilities are endless and I hope just thinking of them will provide some excitement and buy in from my students. Lastly seeing the new technology in my classroom says...you matter..there are people who care. Struggling students need to have the ability to feel part of something positive, reflective and cutting edge. This interactive board will provide the means. I also would like to place magazine racks to display projects and ideas in different genres for students to explore and create formats they can use to show other students or use as an introduction to topics of interest. These will be on display as you enter the room. I am hoping they will generate conversations,
