First Lego League Jr. "Moon Mission" inspires students to solve real world problems, practicing "coopertition" as teams. Together, in an after school club, students will build, and program, a Lego WeDo Core set to illustrate a way they think they could survive on the moon. What they build will have a moving part, that is run by the computer program they create! They will take their creation to an expo with students from many different counties and explain how their invention will work. In my experience, students will come in to work on their projects during any free time they have in the school day. They are so inspired, and engaged to solve the problem, and be able to explain it to their peers, other adults, and judges at the Expo!
