I am hoping to purchase hands on STEM-focused boxes for our classroom. By bringing these materials into the classroom, the kids will be challenged to think critically and creatively. All of these materials will build a STEM curriculum for our transitional Kindergartners, which we currently do not have. Through these activities, my students will be able to have a hands-on approach to lessons such as "Sink or Float" or "How Do Magnets Work?" With this approach, my students will be highly engaged and the topic of study will become more memorable because they are actively participating in each project. Students will gain the ability to learn creative design skills, fine motor skills, and critical thinking. I am hoping that these materials will also increase their interest in science, math, and literacy. Children at this age are ready to plant seeds of curiosity that will last a lifetime, and these STEM materials will give them more opportunities to do just that.
