Where my students are from, there is not a lot of global diversity, traveling outside of the county- much less the state, or acting on exploring a life outside of their norm. We are from a small, low socio-economic agricultural area. A large portion of our students do not have the means to travel. I have been given the capability, through my program, to assist with providing educational opportunities and experiences. Because I realize the unique needs of my students that have been identified as gifted and talented, I am committed to providing for those individuals' educational opportunities that will help them reach their maximum potential. With my commitment, I try my best to provide my students with programs and educational activities that spark and develop higher level thinking skills, appropriate intellectual enrichment, help develop independence and self-direction, emphasize technology skills, and assist with personal and social development. Each year, I strive to incorporate a global, diverse learning experience that enables my students to step out of their box or common landmark. I strive to enable my learners to have the ability to become or witness other cultural influences and to have motivation to have different visions. I believe this is the year! I want to take my students to New York City to explore and tour the many landmarks this city offers such as the Statue of Liberty, the 9/11 Memorial, the One World Observatory, Central Park, the New York Stock Exchange, etc. With your help, we can achieve this dream! Thank you!
