My second grade students deserve to thrive in an environment that meets ALL their needs, not just educational and emotional. Focus seems to be a challenge for a large portion of any elementary school. A comfortable couch with a listening center, giant pillows to read adventures in, Add in uncomfortable chairs, and tables older than their teacher and lap desks or computer stands with adjustable heights will be so useful to the comfort. These items will help ease the challenges of already challenging learning. With our current furniture, we remain uncomfortable. This does not help our already unfocused students. I want my classroom to have a comfortable and inviting atmosphere to match the enthusiasm and courage I see in my students. I appreciate that my students have a nice school, warm lunch, and a great staff. I just want to give them the atmosphere and comfort they deserve.
