Why this rug? Our classroom is grounded in community-building and social-emotional development. We spend a lot of time gathering together to learn, solve problems, reflect on our learning, and support each other through mistakes and successes. We often do this through partner talk and sharing. It's important that our classroom environment supports these daily practices. Because this rug is organized into delineated spaces within differently colored rows, students will know where their space is and thus, where their partners' space is, too. By donating to this project, you will help me provide my students with a space that aids in their community-building and learning.
