My students are currently reading significantly below grade level. They have had limited exposure to books and little educational support from home. I hope to use these listening materials to increase their exposure to reading and give them the confidence they need to become good readers. Center time gives them a chance to learn and grow through fun and engaging activities. By utilizing a listening center, they will be able to become familiar with the look and sound of unfamiliar words and stories. They will get to experience the joy that stories can bring in a way that gives them both support and independence while reading.
