By awarding our class with the Seats for Success project our class will have multiple options for flexible seating. Studies have shown that students need more movement in their school day. By providing these items in our classroom students will have more opportunity to do so. They will also provide seating options in our classroom to help our day run smooth. We would be using the stools at our center table so students can fit comfortably at the center. I would then be able to fit 6 students at my table for my small group instruction that we use at least twice a day. By fitting 6 at my table, rather than 5, I will also be saving instruction time that could be used in other ways. In addition, the spots for the rug will be used on our carpet so students can be comfortable during instruction. The bouncy disks and bouncy bands will both be used to benefit the students that are having to sit still for long periods of time and will be used as an incentive. As you could see my students could really use these items in our classroom.
