In our Color Theory Unit the first project the students create is a work of art with a radial composition that has a color wheel incorporated into the design. The students start off with color pencils to create this first project. Students learn about primary, secondary and intermediate colors. The students also learn about the principal of art, balance, specifically radial balance. Students see examples by artist of radial balance and then are given class time to create their own solutions for the project. Students then create their own solution to how to create a unique and interesting artwork .
