The materials I am requesting are to help make our classroom and learning an active and creative experience. Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and to make choices that help to elevate their learning. Flexible seating creates an open classroom experience, something my students don't currently have.
At the moment, I have a max of 28 students packed into a smaller than normal classroom. They struggle to move about the classroom and often feel trapped at their desk. I do my best to bring them to the meeting area to work with clipboards and a few lap desks. While they love this option, having 28 desks in the classroom does not leave a lot of space for this on a regular basis.
I see my students become more engaged in their learning when they have the freedom to leave their desks. I want to give them a learning experience they will never forget. The adjustable table will create a space for small group activities and the floor cushions will give my students a comfy seat to sit on at the table. Having these materials will allow me to get rid of the large desks and create an open space for our learning.
