Over the years students have had less time to just move during the day whether by choice or by requirement. As a result they often squirm around or find other opportunities to get up and move that may cause them to miss out on what they are learning. I want to change that for my students! It isn't always possible to make every lesson super interactive. That can leave kids sitting for almost 6 hours a day. Sometimes you just have to stretch your legs. For some students a one minute stretch break isn't enough. I can't have them wandering the classroom constantly either because they will never get anything done. Having a high top table will allow students to stand and work at the same time. When they are done standing they can move back to their seat to continue learning. Ultimately, I hope this will allow students to get the movement they crave and the focus they need.
