Students learn best through hands on manipulatives and getting to explore and figure out problems individually. My project will provide each student with their own hands on manipulatives to solve the Math independent activities presented in the lesson. These things will also be used for small group instruction during center time. My project will also provide students the incentive to use flexible seating as a reward within the classroom to encourage positive classroom behaviors and make learning fun again. Not all students work best in a seated upright chair. Some find this difficult to keep interest in what's being taught. This project will give them choices to learn in the environment most beneficial to them. I am hoping to encourage my students to get excited about coming to school to learn in a fun and innovative classroom with the use of these items.
