Teaching students about how their own bodies work is such an important part of Biology and really makes what we learn in class relevant to their daily lives. Since the internal anatomy of a pig is very similar to the internal anatomy of a human, students are able to get a glimpse into what their own bodies look like beneath the skin. In conjunction with the fetal pig dissection, students will also be learning about how these different organs and organ systems work by researching and putting together a creative presentation. This will help support and reinforce their learning and really help them internalize the material.
