Do you think you could reach your full potential in a classroom if you had to sit on a cold, hard chair all day? Me either. I am wanting to incorporate some flex seating options in my classroom for a number of reasons. First, students will be given more control by having different options of their seat. They will be able to choose what seat is best for them to focus on the lesson or task. Giving students this choice provides them with a sense of control of their environment, giving them more empowerment which will carry over into their classwork. 43% of one of my classes is ADHD and 34% in my other class as well as 15% being Emotionally Disturbed. These students need to have the ability to move and wiggle while learning at the same time. The Flex-Wobble stools will give my students the ability to move which will give their minds the freedom to focus on learning. With the amount of attention barriers we need to overcome with my students, it would help to have them comfortable. An uncomfortable student is a distracted and unproductive student. The floor chairs will give students more space and sit comfortably, the rug will provide a warmer space for groups to work rather than on the cold tile, and the storage ottomans will provide more seating as well as keep students' supplies safely tucked away.
