My classroom is set up with tables and chairs for cooperative learning. I have added 2 additional tables this year to accommodate more students. I am a Dyslexia Intervention teacher, and I teach Leveled Literacy both are programs to help students achieve their best and to stay on level for reading in the academic setting. My students are hard working and diligent in learning new skills. They are always willing to try new methods of learning. Many of our students have parents that are military since we live near one of the largest ARMY bases in Texas. We also have a large percentage of our students whose parents are in the penal system, we have a large prison population. We are a title 1 school which means most students are from social economic disadvantage homes. I would like to give all of my students an advantage past their high school careers.
