Students in 5th grade will each have their own individual ukulele to learn on while we are using ukuleles in the classroom throughout the year. When all the students are hands on they get more out of a lesson. I currently only have about half the number of ukuleles I would need to teach a whole class so that each student would have a ukulele to use. Students will learn basic chord progressions while playing assigned songs and songs of their choice on the ukuleles to learn about how to play chords and notes. Students will also learn how to find individual notes on the ukulele to be able to play basic melodies.
