We will use the floor lamps, extension cords and surge protectors in our room instead of the fluorescent overhead lighting. I want the classroom environment to be warm and inviting for them. My students struggle with anger issues and it has been proven in studies that the fluorescent lighting is very stimulating and may be adding to the stress and anger level in my classroom. Home life for them has been proven to be a stressful environment, so school needs to be a calming atmosphere where they feel safe to explore.

About my class
