Having leveled-readers in our classroom library will promote students to have the confidence to read and share their reading with others. My students love going to their "Read to Self" or "Read to a Buddy" center because they can escape to new places and have adventures that they may not be able to in the real-world. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. With the leveled-readers, my students will be able to choose books, based on their current reading level, and not feel discouraged because the non-leveled-readers are not suited for them. They will still be able to choose books that interest them. However, with not having a library in our school, my goal is to create a class sized library in our class, that allows for more focus on reading growth and confidence. This is encouraging students to keep reading, by using a variety books, to learn, share knowledge, and maybe become an author their selves and share their passion for reading with others!
