In early education modeling reading and writing is essential to helping students become literate. Activities like shared reading with a big book and shared writing are the gateways to reading. I need an easel to model reading strategies with big books and model writing for my Kindergarten students. I can also display pocket charts, anchor charts and morning messages on the easel. Most of our whole group learning and interactions would happen on this easel. Without this easel I have no place to display big books while reading them during shared reading time and no way to effectively show writing examples to my Kindergarten students.
