Learning to read should be a fun and enjoyable experience. Students should have access to a variety of books that are of interest to them. Have you ever read a book that didn't peak your interest? This happens far too often in the elementary classroom. I am teaching my students how to pick out books that will be fun and enjoyable. I want to be able to provide books that they requested. I want to be be able to take them places they've never been before. Students have asked me for books such as "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Tuck Everlasting," and "Rump."
