Throughout the year, I am incorporating inquiry based learning for my students to understand biology concept in the real world. My students will be introduced to CER, ecology, biochemistry, cell structure & function, cellular processes & energetics, heredity, gene expression & regulation, and cell cycle. These materials will be used in various labs. For instance, the stopwatches and calculators will be used for when my students are introduced to enzymes and osmosis (cellular processes & energetics). They will be able to calculate and time rate reactions and how quickly products are produced. For the rulers, those will be used during gene expression and regulation. I want my students to learn to create a long peptide chain and be able to connect these chains and express the central dogma of biology. These materials will allow my students to take a conceptual subject like biology and make it tangible. It's all about making biology "STICKY" for all my learners.
