Our new FIRST Lego League Jr. (FLL Jr.) Robotics teams are meant to help students collaborate and build character through teamwork. Each of our two teams will be comprised of students from grades 3 and 4. FIRST LEGO League Jr. challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers. During the “Mission Moon” season, the teams will choose and solve real-world problems using LEGO Education Community Starter Sets. The purpose of creating a robotics club for the upper-grade students at our school is to provide them with extension, enrichment and hands-on experience using STEM learning combined with research, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and imagination. Each team will build, test, and program a design that meets the FLL Jr. STEM challenge requirements. They will also program and motorize at least one component of their models using the LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 Core Sets. Throughout their experience, teams will operate under the FLL Jr.’s signature set of Core Values, celebrating process, discovery and teamwork together.
