In my classroom, we struggle with keeping personal space. We practice spacial awareness and self control often, but it’s hard to keep everything to ourselves sometimes (especially when you’re 5). A rug would allow my students to spend more hands on time at the carpet where students at this age learn best. In addition to a nice, durable classroom rug, my students would greatly benefit from hearing stories read aloud to them. It is incredibly important for children to be read to by many different voices. A listening center would give my students the extra auditorial support they need in order to become better readers in the future!
