One of the units in STEM is about programming, usually in scratch. Students enjoy learning how to program but the only things they can produce is digital media such as games. They struggle to see the real world application of programming. With a set of programmable PARROT drones, my STEM students will see the real world applications of programming by programming search and rescue style commands into drones. Much like robotics competitions, students will be able to compete in groups with increasing difficulty. Being able to experience the results of programming will help them be ready for the cutting edge technical field.
