These Chromebooks will better support learning in several ways. First, students can research topics for study. We do research on famous people in which they read a biography and then find information on their famous person through searches on the computer, in books and other media. Secondly, they can develop and create presentations on their topics of study. Students love to present their projects to the class, but they will also get to create a Power Point or Prezi presentation to show what they have learned. Thirdly, they can participate in project based learning as a way to challenge and encourage them to think critically. I have created a "Tic-Tac-Toe" board with varied and unusual projects on it. Students can pick 3 projects in a row to complete. They sign a contract that they will be responsible for their completed work. They can use the Chromebooks to prepare materials for these projects.
