Students will use the multicultural items to be able to create self-portraits that reflect who they see when they look in the mirror. It is important that a student feels like their portrait is a true representation of themselves. Sharpies will help students outline aspects of their self portrait highlighting important features of what make them unique. In art this year, we are embarking on more hands on activities that will showcase the students creativity. The use of felt will allow my students to create colorful monster dolls that will be shared with lower classmates. This will help them learn fundamentals in sewing, design and innovated thinking.
